How Mosquito Misting Works

The MistAway Mosquito Control System is made up of a reservoir, tubing and nozzles.  A fully digital weatherproofed timer mechanism controls the mist times and is programmed based on the anticipated needs of your environment.  All of our mosquito control systems include a remote control and may be activated to mist between scheduled times if necessary. The mosquito misting system lines and nozzles are discretely installed around the perimeter of your home and/or other structures and can be installed with a zone design to allow specific zones to be turned on and off while other zones remain active.

 

The mosquito misting system nozzle circuit consists of nickel plated precision-engineered nozzles connected to ¼” UV protected nylon tubing installed around the perimeter of the area to be protected. The mist pattern is conical in shape and projects 10-30 ft from the nozzle tip.  The mosquito control system nozzles are typically placed about 10 – 15 ft apart to ensure full coverage.

The nozzles themselves have a high engineering content. The tips are nickel plated and can withstand all types of weather.  The orifice has been designed to yield a very fine droplet size at our operating pressure. The mosquito misting system tubing is UV protected and comes in four colors, clear, white, tan and black and can also be painted if necessary.

 

When the mosquito control system is activated, a fine mist of insecticide is emitted from the nozzles. You can set the automatic timer so that the mosquito control system will come on at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes and other biting insects are most active. Since the insecticide biodegrades quickly, there will be no residue during the day that could harm butterflies or other friendly daytime insects. You may want to consider a rain or wind sensor for your mosquito system as well.

The mosquito misting system plugs into a 110 outlet and requires no special plumbing.

Gen III Tankless misting system:

The Gen III mosquito misting system is an attractive, state of the art, tankless outdoor mosquito control system. This mosquito misting system is friendlier to consumers and offers more flexibility and control over the products that are misted. It is small and lightweight and can easily be placed anywhere in your yard that is convenient to a hose bib and electrical outlet. The Gen III mosquito misting system can be programmed to use as much as 40% less insecticide than the 55 gallon drums system, thus saving the customer 40% per year on refill cost.

Gen III is convenient! Simply snap in a cartridge of Pyrethrum insecticide and the automated controller does all the work.  Each time the mosquito control system is activated, Gen III precisely mixes a fresh batch from the
concentrate.  The smart cap on the cartridge tells Gen III the proper dose of botanical insecticide to address your mosquito problem.

Tired of a 55 gallon drum in your yard? You can easily upgrade your current mosquito control system by replacing it with the Gen III and keep your existing nozzle circuit.

With Gen III’s smart cap technology, you tailor the amount of active ingredients and gain control over mosquitoes and other biting insects, while using the least amount of insecticide.

Gen III is smart, it is the only system on the market that can detect a leak in the nozzle circuit. If it does detects a leak, it lets you know by blinking the LED light on the outside of the housing.  It also suspends future mist cycles until the leak is fixed, saving you money on wasted insecticide.

 

Gen 1.3 Drum-based misting system:

Don’t let the fifty five gallon drum, Gen 1.3 unit., fool you.  This System is engineered with the same quality and attention to detail that goes into MistAway’s Gen III tankless system. A molded plastic enclosure and soft  waterproof cover provide weather tough protection for the system’s proprietary controller and other components. Before each programmed mist, an agitation cycle is activated to keep the insecticide solution well mixed and ensure that the concentration of the first mist is the same as the last. Like Gen III, this unit can also be fitted with a number of options, including leak detection, a zone kit – increasing the number of nozzles it can supply – and a wind sensor.
